Same Sex Marriage

I was thinking about same sex marriage as being an American value.  Gay people have the same rights to the constitution of The United States as every- one else does.  I think marriage is a right we all have including gays under our constitution.  The fallacies can be appeal to the people and ad populum.

The author is Ezra Klain and he is very knowledgeable about his material.  I goggled this person.  He is a colonist with Washington Post.  His background and interest is in Political Science and budget policy which makes him an authority on the subject matter.  His article states that he doesn't understand the Republican position on the sequester.  His reasoning in explaining what he thinks the position of the Republicans budget talks are cut the deficit, cut entitlement spending, protect defense spending, and possibly even increase it, simplify the ax code by cleaning out deductions and loopholes and lowering the tax rates.  The Republicans don't want that deal.  They prefer to sequester the deal which means they will get less on the deficit, basically nothing on entitlements, tax codes, and tax rates and they  will hurt themselves on defense spending.  They fallacy is appealing to authority.  This means using the opinion or position of an authority figure, or institution of authority, in place of an argument.  Also it could be a slippery slope which means asserting that if we allow A to happen, then Z will consequently happen too, therefore  A should not happen.

No Kill Shelters For Animals in the United States

Glenda Farmer

No Kill Shelters For Animals in the United States

I am keeping my same topic for research at the moment.  I don't see any reason to make any changes at the present moment.  In class you were explaining how to go from one data base to another one if you need to.  There is so much data in all of the data bases which is so useful and knowledgeable.  There are a lot of things that does not appear to be useful to me at present.  Thank you for introducing the class and myself to this wonderful information.  I can always use it in the future of my classes.  You are so knowledgeable.

The book I checked out was found in stacks on the second floor.  The call number is BJ354.S561.200   The Author is Singer, Peter 1946 The name of the book is Writings on an Ethical Life

LIBR 1101 Course Blog: Blog Homework due 2/7, 10pm

Thank you for having the lady from special collections today.  I had forgotten all about that department. She was very informative.  I can use special collections if the need arrives because my topic is about the no kill animal shelters and adoptions.  There are so many different articles down there to use in doing my references.  I could use magazines and newspaper articles from some time ago up to present time if there is a need for information.  There are also periodicals there to look through that is also very informative.  Since we are learning how to look in different directions through different data bases, special collections should not be too difficult to use.  If there is any problems from the usage there are always wonderful people there to help you.  Again I would like to say thank you for having this wonderful knowledgeable lady to speak to us today.  I look forward to working with her and her department of special collections.
